In the 9 years since our founding, A Lotta Love has made a profound difference in homeless shelters and crisis centers throughout central North Carolina. 
​
Between 2015 - 2023, we've rehabbed 345 shelter bedrooms, renovated 91 shared spaces (kitchens, living rooms, lobbies, offices, bathrooms, etc.) and led 13 major outdoor rehab & garden projects. 
 
In 2022, a 2-year study led by Durham psychologists Mira Brancu and Tina Lepage was published in the Psychologist Services Journal illustrating the effectiveness of using critical principles of interior design in shelter spaces.  12% increase in hopefulness, a 26% increase in feeling prepared, and a 63% increase in feelings of safety. 96% of participants felt more respected and dignified as a result of A Lotta Love's work.
